Follow-up and diagnostic consultation

The CITA-Alzheimer Foundation, through its Centre for Research and Advanced Therapies (CITA) has opened its doors to the public of its memory clinic, oriented towards early and modern diagnosis for people with memory problems or other cognitive symptoms.

The clinic has a multidisciplinary team of experts in Neurology, Neuropsychology and Magnetic Resonance Imaging and offers a treatment based on personalized medicine with access to cutting-edge technology to respond to all the questions and uncertainties surrounding memory problems.

The CITA-Alzheimer Foundation's Memory Clinic advocates for the diagnosis as early as possible of diseases that lead to dementia, such as Alzheimer's disease, based on the conviction that both the pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments available as well as the measures to be taken, are most effective the earlier they are put into place. The thorough neurological interview, the complete neuropsychological evaluation and the application of the diagnostic tools required in each case (PET brain, 3-tesla brain MRI scan, etc.) are the basis of an early and accurate diagnosis.

The team of professionals at the Memory Clinic will devote whatever time is necessary to rally around and accompany the patient and his or her family at the time of explaining the diagnosis and treatment plan, while always respecting the ethical principles of autonomy, beneficence, and non-maleficence. Diagnosis and treatment must be accompanied by all the necessary information and advice on the progress of the process and the steps to be taken as well as the design of a customized care plan for monitoring and providing prompt care for any possible incidents that may occur.
