Training

 

Teaching, alongside research and care activity, constitutes a priority objective of the CITA-alzheimer Foundation.

For this reason, our research platform being developed in the Foundation is available for the conduct of PhD work across a range of disciplines. The working environment, the human team and the activity taking place at the Centre for Research and Advanced Therapies of the Foundation also has the ideal conditions to be an internship centre for different educational and training programs.

The following PhD thesis work is currently taking place at the Foundation:

  • Dietary- nutritional and life-style risk factors for the development of Alzheimer's disease: longitudinal prospective study in a cohort of healthy people 40 to 80 years of age in Gipuzkoa.
    Research: Ane Otaegui Arrazola. PhD in Nutrition and Health. Department of Pharmacy and Food Sciences. University of the Basque Country, ongoing. Co-directors: Elena Urdaneta (UPV/EHU, Basque Culinary Centre) and Pablo Martínez-Lage (CITA-Alzheimer Foundation).
  • Characterization of the neuropsychological profile of people with pre-clinical Alzheimer's disease. Cross sectional study of a cohort of asymptomatic individuals.
    Research: Mirian Ecay Torres. PhD in Health Psychology. Faculty of Basic Psychology I. UNED, ongoing. Co-directors: Herminia Peraita (UNED) and Pablo Martínez-Lage (CITA-Alzheimer Foundation).
  • Cardiovascular risk factors and renin-angiotensin system in preclinical Alzheimer's disease.
    Research: Andrea Izagirre Otaegi. PhD in Nursing. Faculty of Medicine. Department of Physiology. University of the Basque Country, ongoing. Co-directors: Gorka Larrinaga (UPV/EHU) and Pablo Martínez-Lage (CITA-Alzheimer Foundation).
  • Structural and metabolic neuroimaging of pre-clinical Alzheimer's disease
    Research: Jorge Villanúa Bernues. PhD in Neurosciences. Faculty of Medicine. University of the Basque Country. Co-directors: José Félix Martí-Massó (UPV/EHU) and Ernesto Sanz-Arigita (CITA-Alzheimer Foundation)

CITA-Alzheimer Foundation acts as an internship centre for the following programs:

  • Master of Neuropsychology at the Autonomous University of Barcelona
  • Degree Program in Pharmacy and Nutrition. University of Navarre
  • Master of Healthy Aging and quality of life. University of the Basque Country (under preparation).
