Prevention

The current state of medical science allows the proposal of hypotheses in terms of asymptomatic, cognitively healthy people that have not been definitely proven, on possible preventive measures in the field of dementia and cognitive impairment. These measures relate to the detection and control of risk factors as well as an approach around healthy lifestyle habits such as exercise or cognitive training.

There are still secondary preventive measures that can be recommended to people who already show incipient memory failure and cognitive impairment symptoms. The approach for such measures must be based on early and accurate diagnosis of the type of deterioration and its causes.
